Traditional pheasant and partridge shooting set in the heart of Lincolnshire.

Overview:

Centred around the Hamlet of Eagle Hall, our shoot covers an area of 3800 acres split into 30 separate drives. It includes 250 acres of mature traditional English woodlands, spinneys and game cover crops. The varied topography allows us to show challenging and testing sport to all abilities.

The area around the shooting lodge and game larder lends itself to traditional partridge shooting, driving birds over well-established hedgerows. But don’t let these large open fields fool you, with a mix of partridge and pheasant on this beat the sport is varied and challenging. The two drives along Eagle Ridge add a variation in topography and strong pheasants flying home from these drives provide some serious sport.

The land to the south of Eagle Village and around Eagle Hall is different again and lends itself to showing pheasants. Large arable fields, dissected with well-established hedgerows but with more of a roll to the land with the addition of mature woods and spinneys. These outlying areas from Eagle Hall wood are supplemented with game cover crops and all are driven back towards our main wood. Don’t let your guard down in this area and get too focused on the pheasants, there are also partridges in this area to provide varied sport for the guns and to ensure a mixed bag at the end of the day.

Example itinerary of a typical days sport at Eagle Hall:

Meet at the Lodge at 09:00 for coffee, formalities and drawing of pegs.

Load up into our chauffeur driven, purpose built gun bus and off to shoot the first two drives.

Mid morning sloe gin with a few nibbles followed by another drive.

Back to the Lodge for a hot lunch of home cooked food allowing time for reflection of the mornings sport and time to anticipate the afternoon.

Afternoon, back out into the field to shoot the final two drives.

Returning to the lodge for a count up, hand out the sweep winnings and enjoy a cup of tea and piece of homemade cake (or a quick G and T if you have a driver!).
